Face it. Every business can use funding of some kind. Some businesses are built to be sold and others are build to be a legacy for a family. If you are building a business to sell it investors are often brought in to help scale at a more rapid pace. Investors typically expect a minimum 3-5 return on their investment in 3-5 years.
So how do you craft that perfect pitch that gets the investors to say yes? If you watch Shark Tank you have seen what can go right and what can go wrong during a pitch. What you don’t hear about is which entrepreneurs that get on the show have hired someone to help them craft their pitch and tell their story. Just like anything else, preparation leads to greater success.
My guest today is known as the Pitch Whisperer and on this episode he shares how you can go from being invisible to being investable. We go over how to prepare for the objections, share your plans in a story, answer the questions, “Why You? Why Now?” and how to prepare for the Yes and the No. John also shares how and where to find investors. And I love this, he shares with us the 4 Questions potential investors are asking themselves while you are pitching. If you know those questions you are ahead of many others pitching to them.
We pitch everyday. It may not be about business but we do pitch. Telling your story and being confident about you is a critical skill for business and for life. How would you like to improve those skills?
If you have an idea and want to get funded to get there. Don’t miss this episode!
