“What do you mean you want me to relax? I’m an entrepreneur. I have a lot to do. Time waits for no woman.” Have you ever heard yourself saying those words? I don’t mean word for word but some thoughts like them? I know I have and still do and they are burning me out.
Consistently taking a break where you turn off the brain and just allow it to wander, where you allow yourself to explore the unknown possibilities is good for the soul, the body and everyone around you. Science has proven that vacations, meditation, taking a walk or other forms of letting go of being “on” are critical to success.
How do you do that though? I used to be good at it but lately I have realized I am losing my edge for my own work ideas and play. I’m still crazy good for my clients which leads me to wonder, “how is it possible to help others while feeling burned out?”
Enter a friend of mine, Karl Palachuk. Author of Relax, Focus, Succeed and a fellow entrepreneur. I read his book many years ago when I was thinking about selling my first company and I had lost a bit of focus. We know each other from the tech world and he is a respected business consultant and work-life balance expert.
We are going to discuss how taking time to relax can actually improve focus. How you can move past overwhelm and three things to do each day to reduce stress and increase productivity.
