It feels like the world has gone a bit crazy. Chaos and change are rampant and leadership is missing in many levels of business. Well at least heartfelt leadership is missing.

My guest today, Deb Boelkes, is a leading authority on teaching leaders how to be, or expand, as Heartfelt Leaders. You might be surprised at the definition of a heartfelt leader and you might be even more surprised as to why being one is critical to the leaders success as well as the success of the business.

Anyone can become a heartfelt leader and Deb Boelkes shares how and why you should care.

Deb Boelkes is an author, keynote speaker, symposium producer, and founder of Business World Rising. She developed her unique sense of leadership style rising through the ranks of a male-dominated business world starting at age twelve. During her 30-year career leading sales, global business operations and professional services organizations within Fortune 500 technology companies, including AT&T, IBM, and Arrow Electronics, Deb gained an undisputed reputation as a passionate, people-oriented leader who, together with her teams, could always be trusted to deliver WOW results.

Deb launched Business World Rising in 2009, a leadership development firm dedicated to the advancement of high-potential and high-achieving business women to senior leadership roles. The mission to help organizations everywhere create best places to work, where heartfelt leaders at every level inspire their teams to be the best they can be.

Deb highlights what she considers to be the most important leadership lessons she has learned in the two books she authored in collaboration with Mark Goulston, M.D., The WOW Factor Workplace: How to Create a “Best Place to Work” Culture, and Heartfelt Leadership: How to Capture the Top Spot and Keep on Soaring.

Deb earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and her MBA in Management Information Systems from the University of Rhode Island. She lives in Florida with her husband, Chris. They have three grown sons and three grand-daughters.
